Green Towns

Although not run by Shanklin VYCC, the Green Towns group has strong links to the club, via volunteers overlapping.

Weekly gardening is not only a great way to maintain local green areas, but it also plays a significant role in preserving the beauty and tranquility of our surroundings. One such area that deserves special attention is the war memorial, which holds immense historical and emotional significance.

By regularly tending to the green spaces around the war memorial, we can ensure that it remains a peaceful and respectful place for remembrance. This includes carefully trimming the grass, pruning the bushes, and planting vibrant flowers that add colour and life to the surroundings.

Moreover, weekly gardening provides an opportunity for community members to come together and engage in a meaningful activity. By organizing regular gardening sessions, we can foster a sense of unity and pride in preserving our local green spaces, especially those connected to our history and heritage.
